From Everyone to Everywhere
A global conversation among Reformed churches, denominations, ministries, and leaders committed to learning from one another and participating together in God’s mission.
Philippians 1:27
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.”
Global Mission Is Changing
Under God’s providential guidance, the world is changing. Old patterns of global mission and ministry based upon the West sending resources and personnel to other parts of the world have given way to new avenues of missional engagement that acknowledge the maturation of Christian Bodies around the world. Indeed, a great number of global Reformed Bodies have their own institutions and mission priorities that they themselves have discerned apart from any Western influence.
As a result of their own contextual engagement, all of us now have wisdom to share with one another, especially in terms of what it means to live out and share the Gospel.
We have moved from an older mission paradigm typified by the phrase,
‘from the West to the rest’
‘from everyone to everywhere.’
Given these circumstances we believe that this is a time when like-minded, Reformed and evangelistically engaged Churches from around the world have been given an opportunity for a fresh conversation around collaborative mission by bringing together the unique strengths, insights and resources God has given to each of us. As the Apostle Paul teaches, this is God’s original plan for the Church:
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it…so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
