What is the RGMN?

The Reformed Global Missions Network exists to foster a global conversation among like-minded, Reformed, and evangelistically engaged churches from around the world. Participants gather to share the unique strengths, insights, and resources God has given each of them, with a particular focus on evangelism, disciple-making, leadership development, church planting, and church renewal.

Participation is open to those who affirm the RGMN’s Theological and Missiological Covenant, which is grounded in the historic beliefs and practices of the Reformed tradition.

Understanding the Distinction

The RGMN does not exist to take votes or make pronouncements about the issues of the day. There are already a variety of representative ecumenical bodies around the world that serve this purpose. Our intent is not to overlap with or duplicate the efforts of those organizations.

Participating denominations do not pay dues or apply for membership. Leaders and organizations who desire to participate are simply asked to affirm the RGMN’s Theological and Missiological Covenant.

The RGMN is not an institution. Rather, it is an adaptive movement made up of autonomous denominations, training centers, and networks whose structural elements and operational agreements will grow only as they are needed to support the learning and action to which God may call us.

Although participants hold to the basic principles of the historic Reformed faith, the RGMN recognizes that not every denominational form is equally helpful in every cultural context. Each autonomous participating body is responsible for discerning its own patterns of governance and ministry while remaining open to learning from one another.

Participants in the RGMN are mature bodies within the Reformed Christian tradition who have already settled upon deep theological convictions. The purpose of the network is not to persuade participants to adopt different theological positions, but to encourage one another toward maturity in Christ while remaining willing to listen and learn from one another’s experiences and perspectives.

The primary purpose of the RGMN is to cultivate lasting relationships, encourage shared learning, and foster collaboration in God’s mission.

While trusted partnerships formed within the network may naturally lead to financial collaboration or shared investment in ministry, participants are asked to refrain from using the RGMN as a place to present funding requests. Instead, the network encourages participants to focus on building relationships, discerning opportunities for collaboration, and allowing trust and shared vision to develop over time.
